I regret to inform you that there is a National shortage of the chemicals needed to perform blood tests.
As a result, routine blood testing in the Practice has had to be suspended, so that those priority patients who are unwell in Hospital will still be able to get tests.
It is possible that this situation may be resolved in a week (starting Monday 19th October).
We have had to cancel all blood tests (except INRs for those people who take Warfarin) this week. As yet we haven’t cancelled any tests next week, but there is a chance that this may have to happen.
We are not booking in any further blood tests until we know the situation has resolved.
